CORNWALL ROADTRIP PT II
THE DADCO SHOW EPISODE 16

Part II of our family road trip to Cornwall! This time we headed down to St Ives, where we dug probably the biggest and deepest hole on the beach that day, before making our way down to the scenic tidal island known as Saint Michaels mount and then finishing our sight seeing with Land’s End, Britain’s most south-westerly point. All in all the family and I had a great time!

TAKING MY KID TO WORK. THE DADCO SHOW EPISODE 14

The title implies I made the decision to take my kid to work but in actual fact, Jamie insisted he come to work with me for the day so I was curious to see how that would go. I was actually left quite surprised. He did fantastic and I didn’t hear a peep from him, he was that well behaved…well that and he was too busy on his Ipad for most of the day πŸ˜‚

CONVERSATIONS WITH KIDS. THE DADCO SHOW EPISODE 12

Running a business and juggling kids can be challenging at times, but no matter what I’ll always try and spend as much time with Natasha and Jamie, and now they’re at an age, especially Natasha, where she starting to ask a lot of questions and so with that said, we have quite a few interesting conversations like why exactly is Paris Hilton famous…and to be honest I’m not even 100% sure why πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜…

HOME VS OFFICE.THE DADCOSHOW EPISODE 10

Working from home, staring at the same four walls for the past 3 months, kids screaming during zoom meetings. Sound familiar? Going back to the office is a welcomed change! Although…rolling out of bed and into my home office, indulging in endless supply of snacks, enough to put you in food coma has been very blissful, but does that outweigh the love for being at my office desk? πŸ€”

TESTING MY KIDS PATIENCE.
THE DADCO SHOW EPISODE 8

Let’s be honest, teaching kids patience is never a walk in the park. Our kids are growing up in a totally different world to ours when we were kids. Today, everything is ‘on-demand’ from food to films so it’s no wonder that kids these days don’t have much patience. So this week, I decided to teach my kids the art of patience with a simple ‘don’t eat the sweets’ test 🍬

PEOPLE SKILLS + KIDS?
THE DADCO SHOW EPISODE 6

‘People Skills’ and ‘kids’. Two worlds that you may not think of crossing over, but people skills are the most important aspect of work, business and just life in general. I decided to blend the two worlds and give a good shot at teaching Natasha and Jamie. Let me tell you, it’s easier said than done…πŸ˜…

THE DADCO SHOW
EPISODE 4

We’re back again and kicking things off with the first episode of the year, episode #4 of the DadCo Show! A lot has happened since the last episode, from tooth extractions to yet again another national lockdown, but we’re making the most of the situation as a family, keeping in good spirit, one glass of wine at a time…especially after a long day of homeschooling the kids.

DADDY & DAUGHTER TIME. THE DADCO SHOW EPISODE 2

So, we are doing our garden at the moment and my wife decides that we need even more decorative stones. So she sends Natasha and I out on a mission to get some. It’s always good to have one and one time with your kids, whilst out Natasha and I got talking about career choices and more whilst getting lost on a wild goose chase across different B&Qs, mixed in with a bit of The Backstreet Boys and High School Musical madness.

CORNWALL ROADTRIP PT I
THE DADCO SHOW EPISODE 15

We’re off again and this time the family and I are doing another staycation, but this time we heading down south to the scenic coastal county of Cornwall, home to the largest indoor rainforest, The Eden Project. Our venture down south started here and despite the long walk and humidity, we all had a fantastic time and the kids absolutely loved it!

NORTH WALES STAYCATION. THE DADCO SHOW EPISODE 13

The family and I decided to go on a long overdue break and do a staycation in North Wales as we explored the picturesque coastal town of Llandudno and Conwy. The weather wasn’t the best, but the kids absolutely loved it (especially Manorafon farm park) and it was nice to take a step back, wind down and stay committed to not checking my emails πŸ˜‚

SHOPPING WITH KIDS. THE DADCO SHOW EPISODE 11

Every parent knows better than to take the kids to the supermarket with them, I try very hard not to go shopping with the kids but on this occasion, I was “only popping in to pick up a few bits” what harm could it do to take them in with me very quickly. An HOUR! An hour I was in there!

WORKING FROM HOME. THE DADCOSHOW EPISODE 9

It’s coming up to a year since the very first lockdown. That meant no school for kids and many parents like myself were forced to work from home. Working from home isn’t actually all that bad, but when you throw in homeschooling, it can become quite the handful πŸ˜… We look-back at some moments of our home schooling routine and in all fairness to the kids, they have been great and well behaved for the most part.

AMAZON LOGISTICS + KIDS.
THE DADCO SHOW EPISODE 7

Having Amazon Prime is a slippery slope but when it’s in the hands of my kids, it becomes a dangerous game. They seem to think that things just magically appear on the doorstep, so I saw a great opportunity to teach Natasha and Jamie the logistics behind how Amazon works, through the power of role-play.

PRE-LOCKDOWN MEMORIES. THE DADCO SHOW EPISODE 5

Going on holiday really feels like a distant memory at this point as we enter week 7 of the lockdown. We really miss going on holiday, so myself and Natasha decide to go on a throwback look through our holiday memories. Sometimes it’s nice to go through old photos and videos for them to remind us of the happy experiences

THE DADCO SHOW
EPISODE 3

It’s been yet another busy week from phone calls and Skype meetings, for both the property side and the marketing technology business, to taking the kids to the dentist and virtual parents evening. Just last week, the UK has entered another national lockdown. It’s made me realise the importance of being able to adapt and change the way we work during these trying times, so that our work isn’t affected too much, but more importantly for the well-being and safety of the people around me and my family.
